Nestled a 3 minute walk above the fishing harbour of Newlyn, it’s also only a short walk to the picturesque harbour village of Mousehole and the centre of Penzance. 17 Farmers Meadow is a recently renovated charming period stone cottage with a private garden and secluded sunny balcony to gaze at the ever-changing sea views towards St Michaels Mount.
Enter through the boot room (great for wet coats and wellies!) and walk through to a calm and cosy living and dining space. The large ridiculously comfortable sofa is perfect for reading by the log burner, or just relax and enjoy the peace and warmth of this characterful cottage.
In the kitchen you’ll find a butler sink, hardwood work tops, dishwasher and all the cooking essentials you could wish for. A clever coffee machine that can use either pods or ground coffee, fridge, oven and hob (freezer is in the boot room).
Upstairs is a double bedroom with stunning sea views, a bathroom featuring a roll top bath with overhead shower and a lovely light room with sofa and workspace. It’s the perfect place for writing, drawing or work. Through a set of glazed doors is a balcony with sea views towards St Michael’s Mount.
The garden is a little haven, with an apple tree producing the goods in late summer and lots of sub tropical plants making there way through, it’s full of variety and includes outside furniture.
The joy of 17 Farmers Meadow is its location in the heart of the increasingly popular fishing port of Newlyn. We’d recommend a visit to the Newlyn Filmhouse, a contemporary independent cinema with a good bistro and bar. Mackerel Sky is a great little restaurant a 2-3 minute walk away with a selection of the freshest seafood tapas you could hope for, Lovett’s is an awesome little coffee and wine shop, Argo has fast built a reputation for contemporary seafood and there are plenty of other independent shops, cafes and of course fishmongers very nearby. You could easily leave your car for the duration of your stay and not think twice about a drive.
